FOXO4-DRI 10mg research vial

FOXO4-DRI is a lab-made peptide built from part of the FOXO4 protein; one 10mg vial costs 8,600,000 VND ($340 USD). Every FOXO4-DRI study below opens on PubMed, and the price stands as checked on 11 October 2026.

What is FOXO4-DRI?

It uses mirror-image amino acids in reverse order, a design that resists breakdown. An extra sequence helps it get into cells.

Its target is worn-out cells, called senescent cells: old cells that have stopped dividing but do not die.

DRI stands for D-retro-inverso, the name for that mirror-image, reverse-order build. The 2023 study's title on PubMed spells it out in full.

FOXO4-DRI in mice and cells since 2017

  • Animal study, 2017. The paper that made FOXO4-DRI tested whether it clears worn-out cells in fast-aging and naturally old mice, and scored fitness, fur and kidney function.
  • Animal study, 2023. Mice with lung scarring got FOXO4-DRI, and the team measured lung damage and collagen.
  • Cell study, 2025. Worn-out scar cells from keloids, thick raised scars, were tested with it in the lab, with cell death as the measure.

The three studies listed are cell and mouse work since 2017, and our search found no published human trial. A 2025 structure study mapped how it grips the p53 protein, which is the basis of how it is thought to work.

How to read this

FOXO4-DRI was designed for one job: making worn-out cells die off. The 2017 mouse study is the reason it is famous, and the 2023 lung and 2025 keloid studies test the same idea in scarring. Those three studies are mice and cells. The 2025 structure study looks at how it grips p53, which is about the design, not a test in living animals.

The FOXO4-DRI paper trail

The 2017 study that made FOXO4-DRI ran in Cell and used both fast-aging mice and naturally old mice. The 2023 lung scarring study appeared in Naunyn-Schmiedeberg's Archives of Pharmacology. The 2025 keloid study, on thick raised scars, ran in Communications Biology. A separate 2025 structure study mapped how the peptide grips p53, a protein that helps decide whether a cell dies. That grip is the basis of how it is thought to work. All of it stays at the level of cells and mice.

Questions about FOXO4-DRI

What has research on FOXO4-DRI looked at?

Worn-out cells in old mice, lung scarring in mice, and keloid scar cells in the lab. Our search found no human trial.

What are senescent cells?

Old cells that have stopped dividing but do not die. FOXO4-DRI was designed to target them, and all of its listed work is in cells and mice.

What is the difference between FOXO4 and FOXO4-DRI?

FOXO4 is a natural protein inside cells. FOXO4-DRI is a lab-made peptide copied from one part of it, written in mirror-image amino acids in reverse order so it resists breakdown, plus an extra stretch that helps it get into cells.

How much research is there on FOXO4-DRI?

Little: 19 PubMed records on 18 October 2026. The peptide was first described in 2017, and a 2025 structure study mapped how it grips the p53 protein, the basis of how it is thought to work.
